I had been reading different blogs since many months, but I did not start one myself till I visited a blog in blogger.com.
While some blog pages I read earlier appeared clumsy and distracting, in blogger.com (and offcourse in wordpress.com also) I found best options provided to design individual blogs.
I love the templates and valuable page elements that blogger has provided. WordPress has a unique option of adding pages.
But for a newbie like me it became very difficult to create and manage a blog trying out all options provided. I had to struggle a lot.
As for as blogger.com is concerned I got a valuable guidance from the article 10-things-to-do written by Kip Swanil, which every new blogger should read.
But I am still in search of such an article to create blog in wordpress.com
Any help??

One day, a friend of one of my friends called and asked us to write contents for websites. Being a journalist, I thought we can write some good contents.
He used to send us some topics on recruitment, real estate, forex trading and such others. We used to make online research on the given topics and write articles of some 500 words to 1000 words.
I did not know much about the techniques of writing content for websites, and started searching for guidelines. I read different types of articles on this. But it was in allfreelancing.com that I found a treasure of information.
The site run by Jennifer Mattern is a forum for discussing and guiding freelance content writers.
There many experienced freelance writers from all over the world, especially from US discuss different facets of writing for websites.
I was like in a trance for a whole week continuously reading this forum. I read almost every thread started by administrator Jenn, and some by others in detail to understand the scope and the market of freelancing. So for writing for some petty amount, I realized here the necessity of learning the art of content writing, building a niche for oneself, and promoting one’s real talents.
This forum put me in a new world, and for an aspiring content writer becoming a member of this forum and communicating would help a lot.
I should say here, “Thank you Jenn’’

Yesterday I had been to Mandagadde, a bird sanctuary near Shimoga, (Karnataka, India) with my friends. We five people first decided to take bath in a river near the sanctuary and entered into the river. None knew swimming. I had learnt to float on the water facing upside, but never to swim. Others tried to float but could not do it for more than a few seconds.
Floating, I remembered the words of Osho (Acharya Rajanish) who has said that the swimmer should not fight with the water, but should learn to be a part of it. Be a part of it like a water drop!
I have been very much inspired by the thoughts of Osho, whom I consider one of the rarest seers of India, and can be placed among Buddha, Jesus, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and others. He is an awaken man!
An original thinker with more than 600 books to his credit, Osho has spoken about almost everything under the sun.
For those who wish to read Osho, there are plenty of books available online, in www.oshoworld.com/e-books/ebooks.asp. Reading online has become easy as different titles can be read chapter-wise and page wise, both in English and Hindi. The site also features his discourses, and nice images of osho.
Have a nice stay at peace-giving oshoworld.

Journalism – the course now a days has become one of the very few Arts subjects that assure job. many colleges are starting a course in Journalism and Mass Communication in degree level (especially in Arts), and some are starting diploma courses. Students also are looking at this course with high hope.
While this course is more practical oriented, other than in some high-tech colleges, most of the colleges do not have the basic infrastructure to start the course. The department may not have full-fledged faculty, or its own computer lab or sufficient number of reference books. And students who join this course will complete the course and get degree like in any other degree subjects. Many regret their decision of joining the course after their high hope get shattered.
But students journalism should understand that fundamental to journalism is not technology- but writing. Understanding technology of computers or other devices and using them in journalism field will not take much time- but mastering the writing art takes!
One need to be a very good writer to be a good journalist. One needs to know how to and how not to use language. This demands a pretty long time and includes extensive reading and writing. Journalism student or a beginner journalist should understand this and start working on it.
This blog in future discusses journalism, necessity of reading, writing, journalistic writing and many more aspects related to journalism.

Being a `Non-Native English Communicator’ and coming from a `No-English Environment’, I know the necessity and urgency of starting a blog on `English Learning for Non-Native Speakers’, to help all non-native English learners find better ways to learn it.While the English has created a sea of job opportunities in India and in many other countries where English was not a mother-tongue, there is still a major mass which is finding it difficult to a minimum conversational English.
There have been many researches done since many decades to make English easier for the Indian students, but the language has still remained a hard nut to crack in the rural and semi-urban parts of India, which covers the major geography of the country.
Me with a Masters Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism had to go through a hard way in bettering my English. My own experience, that of my friends, students, professors and other people I have talked to have helped me make out some easy ways of learning English for non-native English learners.
I shall discuss them in this blog.
